Hari Pertama melaporkan diri..

Saya mula melaporkan diri di SK PLANG pada 06 Jun 2011 (Isnin) jam 7.50 pagi. Terus berhubung dengan Guru Besar sekolah EN.PHUAH GUAN HENG dan diberi sedikit penerangan mengenai status terkini cITaKU Lab,info sekolah dan lain-lain. Perbincangan mengenai perancangan aktiviti akan diadakan bersama Guru Bestari ICT selepas sesi persekolahan pertengahan tahun bermula.

Selepas penyerahan kunci cITaKU Lab, saya terus melawat ke kabin cITaKU Lab yang terletak di tepi pagar pintu masuk.

Keadaan cITaKU Lab :
  • agak berdebu dan berselerak kerana hampir setahun ditingalkan.
  • susun atur meja di tengah kabin telah diubah suai oleh pihak sekolah.
  • tiada server , tiada rangkaian internet disambungkan ke setiap PC hanya satu PC di dalam bilik kecil kabin sahaja disambungkan dengan streamyx.
  • telefon tidak boleh digunakan tetapi streamyx berfungsi dengan baik.
  • terdapat banyak semut di sudut-sudut tertentu.
  • terdapat satu cermin tingkap retak dan pecah sedikit ( mungkin terkena batu ketika tukang kebun memesin rumput ) , Guru Besar sudah dimaklumkan mengenai hal ini.

Proses mengemas dan ubah suai cITaKU Lab dijalankan sepanjang minggu pertama.

cITaKU Labs

What is cITaKU ?

cITaKU stand for Club IT for All Koridor Utara.

cITaKU Labs Objective:
  • Create labs which are consistently maintained and professionally managed complete with hardware, software, training modules and dedicated facilitators; Produce students who value the concept of knowledge seeking, appreciate inquisitiveness and able to work independently
  • Amplify enthusiasm among the teachers to use ICT in preparing academic lessons
  • Increase digital accessibility to rural schools and communities
  • Empower the locals, in 3-5 years time, to use these labs outside school hours as base for community activities and important nodes for business

Target Group

  • 40 primary schools and 10 secondary schools from NCER region
  • Schools from rural areas; 30% of the students in this schools involved in RMT program

Methodology

The implementation of the cITaKU Labs project will be carried out through various collaborations.

Collaboration with Ministry of Education (MOE)
  • Approving the final selection of the 50 schools to receive the labs
  • Determining the specific areas within the school compound to locate the labs
  • Seeking inputs on educational activities relating to labs
  • Supervising the effective utilization of the labs
  • Exploring ways to spread the lab concept to other localities, if successful at the 50 schools in NCER.

Collaboration with Telekom Malaysia
  • Supplying the equipments (hardware and software) to the schools
  • Selecting, training and engaging dedicated facilitators
  • Maintaining the equipments inside the labs

Collaboration with Microsoft
  • Preparing the teaching modules for facilitators and teachers
  • Conducting training sessions
  • Assisting and monitoring trained teachers and facilitators
  • Linking labs with international schools and partners
